WHY THIS CLASS?
Sometimes performing arts students are more interested in honing their CORE SKILLS rather than working towards a show. By this we mean that it’s more important to them at this point in their development that they can stand on stage and control their nerves, be heard clearly, time their speeches correctly and learn the incredible skills that make us great performers.
WHAT HAPPENS IN CLASS?
This is a class dedicated to working on core skills and performance technique only.
There will be no shows but the students will work on everything they need to give them more confidence as a performer and an even stronger base to work from when performing in front of audiences large and small. Guest teachers will be a regular occurrence to give students a window to different practices within the performing arts.
WHO IS THIS CLASS SUITABLE FOR?
Ages 10-18 with a passion for acting and performing arts.
By its nature, this class will be fast moving, challenging and like all SYT classes, a really good laugh!
I ALREADY ATTEND ANOTHER SYT CLASS - WOULD THIS BE SUITABLE FOR ME?
ABSOLUTELY! In our other classes we work towards theatre or filming projects, which is great but with Core Skills you will be deepening your knowledge base even further!
WHO WILL TEACH THE CLASS?
Unlike most SYT venues, CS will not have a branch leader. Mitch will choose teachers based on their skillset.
They may have a 5-week residency teaching stage fighting, or a 1-week guest spot teaching etiquette on a film set. It really will change dependent on what Mitch feels the group will benefit most from.

2) HOW MUCH?
Your first session is always FREE at SYT, so you have nothing to loose and everything to gain!
Even if you attend another SYT class you can come for a FREE taster.
After your FREE taster the sessions are £7.50 per hour (£15 each) payable in blocks of 7,8 or 9. This depends on how the terms fall. 10% discount for siblings.
There are no extra fees, unless you would like to purchase a t-shirt.
